September 14, 2007, Newsletter Issue #81: Bermuda Currency

Tip of the Week

Bermuda does have its own currency, but it is a little different than what you would expect. Bermuda dollars are pegged to the US dollar at a 1:1 exchange rate. However, Bermuda dollars are only usable on your Bermuda vacation, as it is a non-exportable currency.

If you go to an ATM in Bermuda, be sure to take only what you will need - otherwise you will have to plan a trip to the bank to exchange your money before you leave...unless you want to have $100 worth of keepsakes from the island.
